Rescuing Bassets is CBHR's number one concern, and we are always in need of foster homes. Foster homes are loving families who bring neglegleted, abused, or abandoned Bassets into their homes until CBHR can find a forever home. These Bassets are nursed back to health and provided lots of love. The following are explains how you can become a foster and what will be expected of you as a foster.
How to become a foster:
- Complete the Foster form
- CBHR will contact you with more information
- After approval CBHR will assign you a foster dog.
What to Expect as a Foster:
- Provide a safe and loving home for your foster basset
- Provide food and water
- Communicate with the foster coordinator on your dogs health and condition
- Communicate with a vet in your area for all required shots and check ups
How CBHR supports you and your foster:
- CBHR covers medical expenses for the foster dogs
- Information and support such as obedience training
- Help transporting the basset for events and adoptions
